St. John’s Readies for The Battle in Beantown

The Red Storm will race at Boston College for the second consecutive season
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's cross country team will travel to Boston to compete in the Battle in Beantown, hosted by Boston College on Friday. The 5K race will start at noon at Franklin Park.
In the squad's last meet at the LIU Fall Festival, the Johnnies secured fifth-place out of 15 other teams. The Red Storm's fifth place finish marked the first top-five finish for the team this year.
As she did to start the season, Claire Cushing paced the Johnnies with a 5K time of 18:44.4, which was good for fourth place overall. Nia Holden followed Cushing, posting a 27th place result at a time of 20:10.9 in her first meet of the season.
Ezgi Yasar, Hannah Huleatt and Gabriella Caronia all raced to top 40-finishes, all under 21 minutes. Yasar took 34th while Huleatt and Caronia took 36th and 38th, respectively. Jenna D'Onofrio and Cristina Stanescu rounded out the Johnnies' fifth-place effort.
St. John's will face off against 17 other schools in Boston, including BIG EAST foes UConn and Villanova.
