St. John’s Prepares for LIU Fall Festival

Red Storm will race at LIU for the first time since 2013
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's cross country team will continue its 2023 campaign on Saturday when it travels to Brookville, N.Y., for the LIU Fall Festival. The 5K race will start at 11:30 a.m.
The Johnnies took sixth at the Stony Brook Season Opener on Sept. 2 to open the 2023 season. Claire Cushing led the way for the Red Storm, racing her way to a personal-best 4K time of 14:23.70, which was good for an eighth-place finish. Behind Cushing, was Gabriella Caronia who took 42nd and Hannah Huleatt who finished in 45th. Caronia had a finishing time of 15:36.90 while Huleatt finished the race in 15:39.00.
Ezgi Yasar finished fourth while Jenna D'Onofrio took fifth on the Johnnies for 54th and 66th overall. Cristina Stanescu started her collegiate career with a 4K time of 17:50.30, which landed her 69th in the meet.
St. John's will race against Central Connecticut, Coast Guard, FDU, LIU, Marist, Nassau Community College, New Jersey City, Old Westbury, Queens College, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph's, USMMA and Wagner in its first 4K race of the season.
