Women’s Golf to Compete in Quinnipiac Classic

Red Storm will compete at Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's golf team is set to compete in the Quinnipiac Classic starting on Monday.
The Red Storm will compete in the three-round 54-hole event at the Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. Play will commence on each day at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start and live results will be available on Scoreboard.
The Johnnies will compete against 10 schools- Boston College, Bryant, Columbia, Fairfield, FDU, Harvard, Holy Cross, Penn, Quinnipiac and Stonehill.
The Red Storm line-up will feature Xuan Khue Minh Doan, Kelly Wu, Karen Beglin, Lily Huynh and Amy Kim. Cathilyn Lee is slated to compete as an individual.
In its last tournament, the Red Storm shot up the leaderboard on the final day carding an overall score of 51-over, 611, at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational. The Johnnies shot 24-over, 304, in the final round at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y., which ranked third best amongst the 12-team field.
Minh Doan, who led the team in all 11 tournaments in 2023-24 recorded a fourth place finish Beglin came in sixth, her highest placement since Oct. 24, 2022.
Last year at the event, the Red Storm recorded a fifth place finish with Minh Doan pacing the squad placing in sixth. St. John's last won the tournament at Quinnipiac in 2016 when Kirsty Beckwith claimed medalist honors.
