St. John’s in Third at Quinnipiac Classic

Karen Beglin and Kelly Wu sit tied for fifth after opening two rounds
WALLINGFORD, Conn.– The St. John's women's golf team recorded a strong opening two rounds at the Quinnipiac Classic on Monday sitting in third place through 36 holes.
The Red Storm carded a team score of 42-over, 618, on Monday at Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. St. John's sat in the lead after the first 18 holes tying Boston College with a season-low 16-over, 304. The Johnnies logged a 26-over, 314, in the latter round of the day and sit inside the top-3 in the 11-school field.
Kelly Wu and Karen Beglin shined on Monday and are currently tied for fifth overall after shooting 8-over, 152, through 36 holes in Connecticut. Both players got off to a hot start posting a team-low 2-over, 74, which ties for the second lowest single-round score amongst the field. The duo posted a 6-over, 78, in the second round and Beglin ranks second in the tournament with 26 recorded pars.
All-BIG EAST selection Xuan Khue Minh Doan sits inside the top-20 after recording a 14-over, 158 to tie for 18th place. Lily Huynh logged a 17-over, 161, on Monday to take 28th heading into the final round.
The final round of the Quinnipiac Classic will tee off tomorrow morning and live results will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
