St. John’s to Host Marquette for Pink Game

Red Storm will battle the Golden Eagles on ESPN+
QUEENS, N.Y.– The St. John's women's soccer team will host its annual Pink Game on Thursday night at Belson Stadium.
The BIG EAST contest will be streamed on ESPN+ with Kevin Connelly and Drew Casey on the call from Queens. Live stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a commemorative pink St. John's winter hat at the gate.
The Red Storm will continue conference competition and enter with a 5-2-4 overall record and a 0-1-2 mark in BIG EAST play. The squad remains unbeaten home boasting a 4-0-3 record at Belson Stadium this season and are 6-0-4 over its last 10 games at its home venue. Head Coach Ian Stone's crew has outscored opponents 14-6 in Queens.
Last time out on Senior Day, the Johnnies tallied a 2-2 draw against local rival Seton Hall fueled by a brace from Jailene DeJesus. St. John's took a 2-0 advantage amidst a downpour before the Pirates added a pair of tallies including an equalizer with 4:39 remaining to salvage a draw.
DeJesus was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the second time in three weeks after her career-high two-goal performance. Over the last five matches, the midfielder has recorded four goals and two assists (10 points). The Wyomissing, Pa., native leads the team with 29 shot attempts ranks third in the BIG EAST with five points (2 goals, 1 assist) during league play.
Nora Basile tallied an assist on DeJesus' highlight reel second goal against the Pirates on Sunday. Over her first three conference matches, the freshman has tallied a goal and two assists (four points).
In last year's meeting against the Golden Eagles, Stone picked up his 275th career victory in Milwaukee on Oct. 22, 2023. The Red Storm dominated Marquette, 3-0, to clinch a BIG EAST Tournament berth last season behind goals from DeJesus and Ava Collins. The Golden Eagles lead the all-time series, 16-2-2.
Marquette enters the match with a 3-7-2 overall record and an 0-2 mark in BIG EAST play under first-year Head Coach Chris Allen. The squad is led by Tess O' Connell, who has recorded four goals and an assist for a team-high nine points.
Following Thursday's match that concludes a two-match home stint, the Red Storm will travel to the nation's capital to meet its first nationally-ranked opponent of the season in No. 20 Georgetown. Sunday's contest from Shaw Field in Washington D.C. will kick-off at 1 p.m.
