St. John’s Travels to Hawai’i for Kapolei Invitational

Red Storm will play in its first event outside of the continental United States in 12 years
QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's men's golf team will travel to Hawai'i for the Kapolei Invitational from Oct. 29-31.
The event will mark the first time since March 7, 2012 that the men's golf program will compete outside of the United States when it played in the Caribbean Classic in Ponce, P.R.
The three day 54-hole event will take place at the scenic Kapolei Golf Club on the island of Oahu. Tee times will begin at 9 a.m. local time and 3 p.m. local time. Live results will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
Head Coach Phil Wildermuth's line-up will include Peicheng Chen, Joseph Dolezal, David Mlynek Tyler Clark and Brandon Sperling.
St. John's will compete in a national field of 15 teams against- the hosts Hawai'i, Air Force, Arkansas State, Army, British Columbia, Butler, Eastern Kentucky, Lamar, Miami Ohio, San Diego, Texas State, UC Riverside, Utah Tech and Utah Valley.
The Red Storm will hit the links after taking home the team title at the Bucknell Invitational on Oct. 15. The team championship mark the program's first in nearly two years after carding a 15-over, 855, over three rounds at Bucknell Golf Club in Lewisburg, Pa.
Chen has been off to a hot start this fall winning two tournaments and has finished top-3 in all three appearances. On the year, he holds a stroke average of 70.6 and an overall record of 246-2-3 through three stroke play events. Over his last five starts, Chen has won medalist honors three times.
The Kapolei Invitational will mark the final fall tournament for the Johnnies before resuming the 2024-25 campaign in February.
