Women’s Golf Heads to UAlbany Great Danes Invitational

Red Storm will compete in two-round tournament at Normanside Country Club
QUEENS, N.Y.– The St. John's women's golf team will continue its fall slate this weekend as it heads up north for the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational.
The inaugural 36-hole event will take place at Normanside Country Club in Delmar, N.Y. The invitational will begin on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and the final round will tee off at 8 a.m. the following day. Live results will be available on Scoreboard by Clippd.
St. John's will compete in a 12-team field against- Boston University, Fairfield, FDU, Lehigh, Merrimack, Niagara, Navy, Sacred Heart, Seton Hall, Siena and the hosts UAlbany. Normanside will play as a 5,888-yard, par-70.
The Red Storm line-up will feature Xuan Khue Minh Doan, Lily Huynh, Amy Kim, Karen Beglin and Kelly Wu.
In its season debut, St. John's recorded an 11th place finish at Princeton Invitational at Springdale Golf Club in New Jersey. The Johnnies improved as the tournament went on with four of seven golfers posting their best rounds on the final day. The squad shot a team-low 19-over, 303, in the third round.
Wu had a team-best finish of 26th place shooting 17-over, 230. Kim and Beglin tied for 37th place on the leaderboard logging scores of 20-over, 233.
Following this weekend's tournament, the Johnnies will head to the Quinnipiac Classic on Oct. 14-15 in Wallingford, Conn.
