St. John’s to Wrapup Non-Conference Play against Delaware on Saturday at Carnesecca Arena

The Red Storm men’s basketball team and Blue Hens will square off for first time in nearly a century for fourth all-time meeting at 6 p.m. on FS1
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's basketball team (10-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) will wrap up non-conference play on Saturday when it welcomes Delaware (7-5, 0-0 CAA) to Carnesecca Arena for a 6 p.m. contest. The Red Storm women's basketball team will also host BIG EAST foe Creighton in a 1:30 p.m. showdown on FOX prior to the men's basketball game.
FOX Sports announcers John Fanta and Tarik Turner will call the action for the St. John's and Delaware matchup on FS1.
An audio broadcast of the game on the LEARFIELD Red Storm Sports Network with John Minko and Vin Parise will also be available on a variety of platforms including the Varsity Network App, TuneIn Radio, RedStormSports.com and the St. John's Red Storm mobile app. The radio broadcast can also be heard on SiriusXM radio channel 383 and via the SiriusXM App.
St. John's will host "Coming to America" Night, in collaboration with cllct, held on the anniversary of the St. John's men's basketball team's game versus Marist, that was featured in the iconic 1987 film starring Eddie Murphy. A one-of-a-kind event merging sports, pop culture, and fan engagement, will also showcase interactive initiatives, including #FINDTHECTATICKET, a $1,000 reward for the top three highest quality original tickets from the 1987 game.
The Red Storm men's and women's basketball teams each boast a 10-2 record and have swept their last three home doubleheaders, including a pair of opening night victories on Nov. 4. The men's team knocked off Fordham, 92-60, while the women's squad earned an 80-39 win against Saint Peter's.
Before an eight-day layoff, St. John's took down Providence, 72-70, inside Amica Mutual Pavilion on Dec. 20 with a buzzer-beater from Zuby Ejiofor. The Texas product registered a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double in the Red Storm's first win inside Amica Mutual Pavilion, formerly known as Dunkin' Donuts Arena, since 2017. Furthermore, the game-winning shot as time expired was the program's first since Sir'Dominic Pointer pushed the Red Storm past Saint Joseph's, 63-61, to advance to the second round of the NIT on March 19, 2013.
The Johnnies continue to be one of the nation's dominant teams at home, producing an unblemished 8-0 mark, including a 7-0 record at Carnesecca Arena following its 99-77 win over DePaul on Dec. 17. The Red Storm has outscored its opponents by a margin of 21.3 points in seven home contests in Queens.
Since returning from the Bahamas, the Johnnies are outscoring the opposition by a margin of 16.4 points with St. John's averaging 85.0 points in the five games. Five players are averaging in double figures during this stretch with Ejiofor (17.8 ppg) and RJ Luis Jr. (17.4 ppg) pacing the team in scoring. Kadary Richmond (13.6 ppg), Deivon Smith (11.3 ppg) and Simeon Wilcher (11.2 ppg) have also shined over the team's five-game winning streak.
