St. John’s to Face Rutgers on Friday

The Red Storm and Scarlet Knights will meet for the 12th time
The St. John's women's tennis team will make the trip to New Jersey on Friday to take on Rutgers. First serve from the East Brunswick Racquet Club is set for noon.

Friday's matchup will be the 12th all-time meeting between the two programs.
The Red Storm (3-2) are coming off of a loss against Yale last Saturday in New Haven, Conn. The Johnnies are in the midst of a season-long five-match road trip.
Alicia Gomez has led St. John's in singles play, earning a team-best three victories this season. Mouna Bouzgarrou and Arina Gumerova have teamed up for two wins in doubles play while freshman Noemi Babikova and Gomez have won two matches as a pair.
Rutgers (6-2) enters Friday's match winners of its last three contests. The Scarlet Knights most recently took down BIG EAST foe UConn last Sunday, 5-2, in Storrs, Conn. Rutgers is led by Tana Chilton who has a 4-2 record on the No. 1 singles court. Minchae Kim has won five matches for the Scarlet Knights this season with four of them coming on the No. 5 singles court.
Following Friday's match in East Brunswick, the Red Storm will head down to North Carolina for a 2 p.m. matchup with Campbell on Feb. 28.
