Women’s Golf to Open Spring Slate at Columbia Classic

Red Storm to compete in three-day 54-hole event
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's golf squad will open its spring season on Saturday at the Columbia Classic.
The three-day, 54-hole event will commence on Saturday morning from the Duran Golf Club and run through Monday in Melbourne, Fla.
The Red Storm will play in a 16-team field along with- Columbia (host), Cal State Fullerton, Dartmouth, Eastern Kentucky, Emory, James Madison, Kennesaw State, Old Dominion, Penn State, Princeton, Richmond, Seton Hall, UAlbany, Yale, Youngstown State.
The Johnnies line-up will feature- Laia Barro, Karen Beglin, Cloe Clocchiatti, Angelica Kusnowo, Xuan Khue Minh Doan and Kelly Wu.
Saturday's round will begin at 8:30 a.m., Sunday's will start at 8 a.m. and the final round from the Sunshine State will start at 8:30 a.m.
Live scoring will be available on GolfGenius throughout the three-day event.
In the fall, the Red Storm played in four events and had its best-ever finish at the Red Bandanna Invitational hosted by Boston College. Additionally, the Johnnies finished fifth out of 13 schools at the Quinnipiac Classic.
Wofford transfer Minh Doan burst onto the scene during the fall and was the squad's top-finisher in all four events. The sophomore placed inside the top-15 in each of her last three events.
St. John's will play in the event hosted by Columbia for the second-straight year. In 2023, the Johnnies finished tied for 13th with Karen Beglin tallying a team-best 49th place finish.
