Jimmy Keenan Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

The sophomore catcher slashed .563/.588/.813 to go with eight RBIs and four runs in a 4-0 week
QUEENS, N.Y. – After three wins over Hofstra and a victory over Iona, St. John's catcher Jimmy Keenan secured a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The Red Storm catcher unloaded a .563/.588/.813 slash line to go with eight RBIs and four runs in a 4-0 week for the Johnnies. Keenan logged a career-high six RBIs and fell a home run shy of the cycle in the team's 14-1 routing of Iona.
The sophomore followed up with a 2-for-4 showing and an RBI in game one of Friday's doubleheader sweep over Hofstra. Keenan posted two hits in the second game, logging a pair of runs in the 10-1 victory. For the third straight game, the White Plains, N.Y., native went 2-for-4 at the dish with an RBI and a run scored to secure the team's sweep over the Pride.
Keenan paces the team with a .409 batting average, 18 hits, six doubles and 13 RBIs through 12 games this season. He also leads the squad with seven multi-hit performances.
The Red Storm returns to action tomorrow, taking on LIU at Jack Kaiser Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
