St. John’s to Compete in Spring Break Shootout

The Red Storm women’s golf team is back in Florida for three-round tournament on March 18-19
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's golf team returns to Florida for the second-straight week to compete in the Spring Break Shootout on March 18-19.
The three-round, 54-hole event hosted by Western Kentucky will be held at Lake Jovita Golf Club. The Dade City, Fla., track is 6,056 yards and plays at a par-71.
St. John's will compete in a 15-team field against- hosts Western Kentucky, Akron, Butler, Chattanooga, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville State, James Madison, Memphis, North Florida, Seminole State, Stetson, Toledo, Troy and Xavier.
The Red Storm line-up will feature- Xuan Khue Minh Doan, Laia Barro, Amy Kim, Cloe Clocchatti and Kelly Wu.
The Johnnies were in Florida a week ago for the Don Benbow Butler Spring Invitational, where they finished tied for 10th place in the 14-team field. The team shot 76-over at Ardea Country Club over the two rounds.
Minh Doan continued to impress in Oldsmar, Fla., tallying a team best finish for the sixth time in as many appearances this season. The sophomore came in 29th place and has logged a top-30 finish in every event this season.
Barro competed as an individual in the last event and recorded a 34th place finish.
The Red Storm return to the Spring Break Shootout for the third-consecutive year. The Johnnies finished 13th in 2023 and tallied an eighth place finish the year prior.
The shotgun start will kickoff play at 8:45 a.m. on both days and will live results will be available throughout the entire tournament on GolfStat.
