St. John’s Caps Off Spring Break Shootout on Tuesday

Red Storm finished in 14th place in Dade City, Fla.
DADE CITY, Fla. – The St. John's women's golf team capped off the Spring Break Shootout with the third and final round on Tuesday.
The Red Storm recorded a cumulative three-round team score of 54-over, 906, to take 14th place at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, Fla.
During Tuesday's final round, St. John's carded a 24-over, 308 in the Sunshine State for the second consecutive round.
For the seventh time in as many tournaments with the Johnnies, Xuan Khue Minh Doan finished a team-best on the leaderboard. The sophomore checked in at tied for 38th place and logged a team-high 37 pars over 54 holes. In Tuesday's third round, she finished with a 5-over 76, to close out at 9-over, 222, for the event.
Kelly Wu tallied a strong first round yesterday shooting 1-under par, 70 in the first 18 holes. The Auckland, New Zealand native registered a top-50 finish after finishing at 11-over, 224. The sophomore jumped up five spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday after posting a 5-over, 76 and ended the Spring Break Shootout with a team-high eight birdies.
The Red Storm will have a few weeks break from competition before getting back on the course on April 6-7 for Rutgers Invitational. The event will be held at the Rutgers University Golf Course.in Piscataway, N.J.
