Red Storm sit in sixth place after opening two rounds
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The St. John's women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday.
The Red Storm sit in sixth place after the first 36 holes after shooting 53-over, 621, at the Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
The Johnnies improved their team score by seven strokes in the latter round of the day firing a 23-over in the second round.
Angelica Kusnowo was solid for the squad on Saturday playing consistent golf shooting back-to-back rounds of 6-over, 77. The graduate student checks in tied for 19th place with a 12-over, 154.
Xuan Khue Minh Doan, who has tallied a team-high finish in all seven events thus far carded the best round of the day posting a 1-over, 72, in the latter round. She logged three birdies on the front nine and made straight nine-consecutive pars. The sophomore shot 14-over, 156 and is tied with teammate Kelly Wu for 23rd place.
Cloe Clocchiatti was the fourth and final player to place into the top-30 at Rutgers. The Padua, Italy native registered a strong opening round firing a 6-over, 77. She is currently tied for 29th place.
Tomorrow's final round will tee off at 9:30 a.m. and live results will be available on GolfStat.
