Mouna Bouzgarrou Named to All-BIG EAST Second Team

Bouzgarrou finished with a combined 19 victories this season
NEW YORK – Mouna Bouzgarrou of the women's tennis team has been named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Bouzgarrou went 8-4 in singles play and added 11 doubles wins to clinch her spot on the second team for the second consecutive year. All of her singles matches came in the No. 1 singles position and won eight doubles matches on the No. 1 court alongside Arina Gumerova.
The Tunisia native has been honored on the all-conference teams each of the past three years. Bouzgarrou won four straight singles matches to end the season, including a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the Red Storm's triumph over No. 11 Providence in the First Round of the BIG EAST Tournament on March 18. The graduate student picked up a monumental three-set win in the Red Storm's come-from-behind 4-3 victory over UNCW on March 1.
Bouzgarrou and Gumerova were named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week on Feb. 5 and April 15 this season. In singles play, Bouzgarrou is 7-0 in conference play over the past two seasons
The Red Storm finished 10-8 this season and advanced to its 10th consecutive BIG EAST semifinal appearance under Head Coach Lauren Leo. The Red Storm has had a player garner All-BIG EAST recognition every year since the 2012 season.
