St. John’s to Open Fall Competition at the Hofstra Invite

The Red Storm will compete at the Pride’s fall invitational for the first time since 2019
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's tennis team will open its 2024 fall competition this weekend at the Hofstra Invite in Hempstead, N.Y.
The Red Storm's 2024 fall campaign will kick off on Friday at the Hofstra Outdoor Tennis Complex and will continue on Saturday, competing against athletes from Hofstra, Drexel and Queens College. The invitational will consist of both singles and doubles play.
Head Coach Dillon Pottish last took his squad to the Hofstra Invite back in 2019, winning 23 matches across the three-day event.
The Red Storm returns eight athletes from last season's squad that advanced to its fifth-straight BIG EAST Championship match. This year's team features two-time BIG EAST First Team selection Carl Gustavsson and reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Armando Sotelo.
Following this weekend's play on Long Island, the Johnnies will return to action on October 17 for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regionals at UPenn in Philadelphia.
