Red Storm shot team-best 19-over on Sunday
PRINCETON, N.J.– The St. John's women's golf team closed out play at the Princeton invitational on Sunday.
The Red Storm took the course for the final 18 holes of its season-opening tournament and tallied an 11th place finish. The squad shot a team-best, 19-over, 303, in the third round. Overall, the Johnnies carded a 71-over, 922, over 54 holes.
Princeton ran away with the team title winning by 30 strokes at its home event. The Tigers shot an 11-over, 863, at Springdale Golf Club.
Four of the seven Red Storm golfers registered their best scores of the tournament in Sunday's final round.
Kelly Wu recorded a team-best 26th place finish after logging a 17-over, 230, in New Jersey.
Amy Kim and Karen Beglin checked in next for St. John's tying for 37th place with a 20-over, 233. Beglin matched Wu's second round for a team-low, 3-over, 74, on Sunday.
Freshman Lily Hyunh had the best round of her young collegiate career posting a 4-over, 75, during Sunday's final round.
The Red Storm will be back in action next weekend at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational on Oct. 5-6 in Delmar, N.Y.
