St. John’s Travels to No. 20 Xavier

Action will kick-off from Corcoran Field at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's women's soccer team (2-7-4, 0-4-2 BIG EAST) will travel to Cincinnati to face No. 20 Xavier (10-2-2, 5-0-1 BIG EAST) on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m.
Wednesday's contest from Corcoran Field will be streamed on Xavier+ with Mike Schmaltz on the call from the Queen City. Live stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm are coming off a 1-0 setback against Villanova on Saturday night. Prior to the match, the Johnnies honored four seniors- Emily Riggins, Mia Agresti, Molly McGlame and Kayla Bower for their contributions to the program.
Bower remains one of the nation's saves leader logging six or more stops in each of her last five appearances. The Lincoln Park, N.J., native is averaging 8.67 saves per contests over her last three outings against Villanova, Georgetown and Marquette. In Milwaukee on Oct. 1, Bower set a new career-high with 10 stops. The senior captain ranks 18th in the country in saves per game (5.77) and total saves (75). She is 11 stops shy from entering the top-10 in program history in single-season saves.
The Red Storm lead the all-time series against the Musketeers 7-5-1. The Johnnies are seeking their first victory over their conference foe since Nov. 4, 2021, when St. John's captured a 1-0 victory in the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinal to advance to its first BIG EAST title game since 1994.
Xavier is riding a 12-match unbeaten streak going 10-0-2 during that stretch. The Musketeers have not last a match since Aug. 21 against Virginia and boast the nation's top offenses, ranking third in NCAA Division I logging 9.86 points per game.
The Musketeers' Samantha Erbach leads the nation with 11 assists on the year and ranks second in total points racking up 31 on the year. The sophomore forward is the only player in the country to record double-digit goals and assists so far this season
Following Wednesday's contest, the Red Storm will have a week off from game action before returning to Cox Family Field at Belson Stadium to take on Butler on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m.
