Last time out, St. John's secured a 1-1 home draw with Butler on Oct. 22 at Cox Family Field at Belson Stadium. Sophomore forward Hope Van Tuyle netted the game-tying goal in the 74th minute, marking her first of the season and second of her career. On the Van Tuyle equalizer, freshman midfielder Leana Ruiz tallied the first assist of her career with a perfectly placed cross.
In the tying effort, senior goalkeeper Kayla Bower continued her historic season. She registered six saves, moving into the top-10 in program history for single season stops with 89 total. Bower has now recorded six or more saves in each of her last nine contests. The Lincoln Park, N.J., native ranks 18th nationally and first in the BIG EAST with 5.93 saves per game. She also owns a .798 save percentage, good for second in the conference. Bower has posted four or more stops in 14 of her 15 appearances this season, including a career-high 10-save performance at Marquette on Oct. 1, resulting in two BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week nods this fall (Sept. 1, Sept. 29).
St. John's and DePaul will meet for the 12th time in program history, as the Red Storm own a narrow 5-4-2 edge dating back to 2007. The two sides last met on Oct. 27, 2024, when the Blue Demons secured a 2-0 victory at home. St. John's last defeated DePaul on Oct. 26, 2023, in a 1-0 decision at Belson Stadium.
DePaul enters Saturday night fresh off a 1-0 home loss to UConn on Oct. 22 in Chicago. The Blue Demons' defense held the Huskies below two goals for the first time since Oct. 4, ending UConn's three-game streak. DePaul is led by Head Coach Michele O'Brien who owns a 25-49-13 record across five seasons in Chicago.
Following Saturday night's tilt, the Red Storm travel to Omaha, Neb. On Nov. 1 for a 2 p.m. start against Creighton at Morrison Stadium for the 2025 season finale.
