Max McColgan Finishes Runner-Up at Wykagyl Invitational

Red Storm finished extend top-three finish streak to close fall slate
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (Oct. 28, 2025) – St. John's men's golfer Max McColgan finished tied for runner-up to close the fall schedule as the Red Storm finished inside the top-three for the third consecutive tournament at the Wykagyl Invitational.
The Red Storm carded a 20-over, 884, over three rounds at Wykagyl Country Club placing behind Rhode Island and LIU to claim a third place finish in the 12-team field. The Johnnies posted a 13-over, 301, in Tuesday's final round in New Rochelle.
McColgan led the charge shooting a season-best 4-under, 212, to tie for second place in the 60-golfer field. The freshman logged the highest finish of his young career closing the event two strokes behind individual champion Force Kosalutta of Mount Saint Mary's. The Lincoln Mass., native logged pars on 36 of 54 holes over the three rounds, which ranked second amongst the tournament field.
David Mlynek finished up his final event of the fall tying for 13th place. The senior recorded a 5-over, 221, over three rounds Wykagyl. Eli Weidmann tied McColgan for the lowest score during Tuesday's third round firing off a 1-over, 73. The rookie finished the tournament with a 10-over, 226 to tie 26th.
Matthew DiFiore finished tied for 32nd with a 12-over, 228, and Joseph Dolezal rounded out the Johnnies' line-up with a 16-over, 240, to tie for 40th on the leaderboard.
The Red Storm close the fall campaign finishing top-three in each of its last three tournament and will be back on the link for the spring campaign beginning on Feb. 2-3 at the Bill Cullum Invitational.
