Women’s Golf Finishes Seventh at Princeton Invitational

Laura Mizlerova tallies top-20 finish in second collegiate tournament
PRINCETON, N.J. – The St. John's women's golf program finished in seventh place at the Princeton Invitational wrapping up the event with Sunday's third round.
The Red Storm shot a 38-over, 890, over the 54 holes at Springdale Golf Club to place in the middle of the 13-team tournament field. Princeton came out on top in its home event carding a 1-under, 851, 10 strokes ahead of the runner-up Rutgers.
During Sunday's third and final round, St. John's registered an 18-over, 302, to maintain the same position it finished in after 36 holes yesterday. Four Johnnies finished in the top-40 of the 79-golfer field.
Freshman Laura Mizlerova recorded a top-20 finish in her second collegiate tournament, placing 17th overall. The rookie closed out the 54-hole tournament with a 9-over, 222, highlighted by an even par, 71, second round.
Fueled by a career-best 2-under, 69, in the opening round in the Garden State, Kelly Wu tied for 31st place. The senior carded an 11-over, 224, in Princeton. Cathilyn Lee finished right behind Wu in 33rd on the leaderboard logging a 12-over, 225. Lily Huynh was the final Johnnie to place inside the top-40 posting a 14-over, 227.
The St. John's women's golf squad will be back in action next weekend when it heads upstate to compete in the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational at Normanside Country Club on Oct. 11-12.
