Red Storm will kick off 2026 on Feb. 13 in Florida
QUEENS, N.Y. – Entering his seventh season at the program's helm and his 25th overall with the Red Storm, St. John's Baseball Head Coach Mike Hampton has released his team's schedule for the upcoming 2026 campaign.
Coming off a spring that saw the Red Storm register a winning record for the third straight season and fourth-place finish in the BIG EAST, the Johnnies will face a challenging 2026 slate that features six NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago. Of the Red Storm's 16 non-conference opponents, 10 compiled winning records in 2025 and four made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
The Red Storm will kick off the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 13, when it takes on Ball State in DeLand, Fla., on the campus of Stetson. The Red Storm will then play a doubleheader against Minnesota and Ball State the following day before closing its opening weekend against the host Hatters on Sunday afternoon.
The following weekend, the Johnnies will make their lone trip of the season out West, heading to Tempe, Ariz., for a three-game set against Arizona State (Feb. 20-22). The series will mark the first contests between the program since 2002. The Johnnies and the Sun Devils played one another during the 1978 College World Series.
The Red Storm will take on its second straight power-conference foe when it travels to Kentucky for a three-game series beginning on Feb. 27. Last season, the Wildcats advanced to the Clemson Regional final before falling to West Virginia. St. John's and Kentucky will meet for the third time in the history of the two programs and the first since 2014.
On their way back from the Bluegrass State, the Red Storm will make a stop in State College for a pair of midweek games against the Nittany Lions (March 3-4).
The Johnnies will make their Jack Kaiser Stadium debut on Friday, March 6, when they kick off a three-game series against UAlbany. The Red Storm will extend that opening homestand with a pair of midweek contests, welcoming reigning MAAC Champion Fairfield (March 10) and Marist (March 11) to Queens.
St. John's will kick off a seven-game road swing when it travels to Charlotte for a three-game series beginning on Friday, March 13. The Red Storm will make the short trip to Stony Brook on Tuesday, March 17, before heading to UT-Arlington for three tilts beginning on March 20.
The Red Storm will begin its longest homestand of the season when it welcomes Cal Baptist to Queens for a three-game series beginning on Friday, March 27. The Johnnies will then host Wagner (March 31) during the midweek before opening BIG EAST play with three contests against the Pirates of Seton Hall. Because of the Easter holiday, the teams will play a single game on Thursday, April 2, before finishing the set with a twin-bill on Saturday, April 4.
St. John's will travel to reigning NEC champion Central Connecticut State on Tuesday, April 7, hosting their second straight home BIG EAST series against Georgetown from April 10-12. The Johnnies will then welcome Hofstra on Tuesday, April 14.
After playing 11 of 12 games at home, the Red Storm will hit the road for eight straight beginning with a three-game series at UConn starting on Friday, April 17. The Johnnies will head to Rutgers on Tuesday, April 21, before traveling to Cincinnati for three tilts against Xavier beginning on Friday, April 24. The Red Storm will close its road swing with a midweek game at Hofstra on April 28.
St. John's will kick off the month of May by hosting reigning BIG EAST Champion Creighton from May 1-3.
After welcoming Stony Brook for the team's final non-conference contest on Tuesday, May 5, the Red Storm will head to Villanova for three games beginning on Friday, May 8.
The Johnnies will close out the regular season with three games against Butler at Jack Kaiser Stadium beginning on Thursday, May 14.
Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, will play host to the BIG EAST Tournament for the eighth time beginning on Wednesday, May 23, as the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the NCAA field will be up for grabs.
