St. John’s Falls to Rutgers, 4-0

The Johnnies will be back in Queens tomorrow night against Illinois State
EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The St. John's women's tennis team dropped its first match of the season on Friday, falling at Rutgers, 4-0.
The Scarlet Knights picked up the team doubles point and won three singles contests to claim the victory.
Rutgers picked up doubles victories on the No. 2 and 3 courts to take a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles action, the Knights earned wins at No. 2 singles, No. 5 singles and on the No. 6 court to finish off the sweep. On the No. 4 singles court, Giulia Bizzari, who is 2-0 in solo play this season, took the first set off of Zynep Ilker, 6-3, before the match was ultimately deemed unfinished.
With the loss, the Johnnies fall to 4-1 this season and will look to rebound tomorrow night in Queens against Illinois State. First serve from the USTA National Tennis Center is set for 7:15 p.m.
