St. John’s to Compete in Vanharte Orange County Collegiate Classic

Red Storm will play in 54-hole event in California on Feb. 10-11
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's men's golf team will compete in the Vanharte Orange County Collegiate Classic on Feb. 10-11.
The Red Storm will begin play at 11:30 a.m. ET with a shotgun start at the Coto de Caza Golf Club South Course in Southern California. The course is a par-72, 6,950-yard track as the teams will play 36 holes on Monday and the final round on Tuesday morning.
The Johnnies are the lone school from the East Coast and will compete in a 10-team field against- British Columbia, Cal State Fullerton, Gonzaga, Sacramento State, Southern Utah, the hosts UC Irvine, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara and Weber State.
The Red Storm line-up will feature- Peicheng Chen, Joseph Dolezal, David Mlynek, Frank Wu and Brandon Sperling.
Last week, St. John's opened its spring campaign at the BIG EAST Match Play, tallying a sixth place finish. The Red Storm moved past Villanova on a tiebreaker and fell to Butler and Creighton at Bear Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach, Fla. Sperling tallied a 1-1-1 record over his three matches.
The Johnnies will compete in the Vanharte Orange County Collegiate Classic for the second consecutive year. In 2024, the Johnnies finished in ninth place at the event with Chen logging a team-best 10th place finish in California.
