Brian Kelly Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week; Adrian Nowak Tabbed to the Weekly Honor Roll

Kelly had 10 points in two games, while Nowak scored seven times last week
NEW YORK – Following a 10-point week, St. John's lacrosse attackman Brian Kelly was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, while redshirt sophomore attackman Adrian Nowak was tabbed to the weekly honor roll, the conference announced on Monday.
This is Kelly's second Player of the Week honor this season, having previously won the award on Feb. 24. Nowak was tabbed the conference's Player of the Week on Feb. 10 after his 10-point outing in the Red Storm's season-opening victory over NJIT on Feb. 8.
Kelly scored one goal on Tuesday at Rutgers and then exploded for a career-best nine points in St. John's 20-16 triumph over Mercer on Saturday. The senior also set a new career mark with six helpers, marking the fifth time in nine games this season he has reached the five-point mark. The 10 points this week give him 174 for his career, one short of tying Brian Bugge for third place on the program's all-time scoring list
The Red Hook, N.Y., native's three goals on Saturday brought his career total to 102, becoming just the fifth player in program history to eclipse the century mark. Kelly has four hat tricks this season and leads the Red Storm with 38 points, 21 goals and 17 helpers. The senior is also third in the BIG EAST with 4.2 points per game and second in the conference with 1.9 helpers per contest.
Nowak also had a career day against Mercer on Saturday. After netting one score against Rutgers, the Wantagh, N.Y., product found twine six times against the Bears, a new career best. This is the third time in 2025 he has reached at least five points. Nowak's 17 goals, 14 helpers, and 31 points are all second on the team behind Kelly and all set new career highs. The first-year captain is also seventh in the BIG EAST with 3.4 assists per game.
Kelly, Nowak and the Johnnies will look to make it two-straight wins on Saturday when they travel to Ridgefield, Conn., for a neutral site matchup against Hobart at Ridgefield High School. Faceoff is set for noon.
