St. John’s Leads After Round One at Northern Kentucky Spring Fling

VERO BEACH, Fla.– The St. John's women's golf team leads the field after battling through windy conditions the opening round of the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Storm hold a five-stroke lead at the top of the eight team field after carding a team score of 26-over, 314, at the Sandridge Gold Club Dunes Course in Vero Beach, Fla. Purdue Fort Wayne trails the Johnnies by five strokes after shooting 31-over, 391, on Saturday.
Xuan Khue Minh Doan is the leader in the clubhouse after firing an impressive 4-over, 76, in the first round. The 2024 All-BIG EAST selection holds a one-shot edge on the 50-golfer field.
Freshman Lily Huynh sits just a single shot back of Minh Doan following a strong opening round on Saturday. The Chatsworth, Calif., native turned in a 5-over, 77, in the Sunshine State to tie with Cassie Psuik for second place.
Cathilyn Lee was the third Johnnie to slide into the top-10 finishing tied for eighth place after logging an 8-over, 80. Kelly Wurecorded a 9-over, 81, to tie for 16th place on the leaderboard.
The Johnnies will tee off for the final round of the Northern Kentucky Spring Fling on Sunday morning with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m. Final results will be published on RedStormSports.com.
