St. John’s Prepares for Three-Game Series at Creighton

The Red Storm sits atop the BIG EAST standings heading into its series with the Bluejays
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's softball team is set to continue BIG EAST play when it travels to Omaha, Neb., to battle Creighton in a three-game series.
The series will begin on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. EST, with the middle contest slated for 1 p.m. EST on Friday. On Saturday, the first pitch of the finale is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. EST. FloSports will carry the entire series, and Live Stats will be available on RedStormSports.com.
The Red Storm enter the week with a 32-12-1 record, sitting atop the BIG EAST standings with a 12-3 mark in the conference. On Friday, the Johnnies matched the program record for season wins set in 1990 and 2017 by tallying its 32nd with a 5-4 triumph over Seton Hall.
The Pirates took the final two games of the series in a doubleheader on Sunday by scores of 3-1 and 10-0 to give St. John's its first conference series loss of the season. Up until Sunday, the Red Storm were riding a nine-game winning streak, its longest since the 2015 season when it made its only appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Pitcher Ana Serafinko tallied her 400th career strikeout in the latter game of Sunday's doubleheader. The Chino Hills, Calif., product ranks third in all of Division I with 210 punchouts in 2025.
Led by Serafinko, the Red Storm pitching staff ranks first in the country with 9.42 strikeouts per seven innings and 396 punchouts as a team. Loreley Francia joins Serafinko in leading the staff, ranking 16th in the nation with 157 strikeouts.
London Jarrard has continued to pace the St. John's offense, hitting .423 with nine doubles, 11 home runs and 49 RBIs. The shortstop crushed her 11th homer in Friday's win over Seton Hall, blasting a two-run shot in the first inning.
Freshman Madison Konopka rides a five-game hitting streak after batting .500 over the course of four games last week. The third baseman has impressed during her first year in Queens, holding a .400 batting average in conference play while totaling one home run and 13 RBIs overall.
Creighton begins the series with an 18-20 overall record and an 8-7 mark in the BIG EAST. The Bluejays most recently swept Butler in a three-game set this past weekend. Creighton dominated the series, outscoring the Bulldogs 42-17 throughout the three contests in Omaha.
Sydney Potter was named to the conference's weekly honor roll on Monday after hitting .400 with a pair of home runs, including a grand slam. The sophomore leads the Bluejays' lineup with nine homers and 45 RBIs in 2025.
Inside the circle, Brooklyn Patchen leads Creighton's pitching staff, tossing 84.2 innings while maintaining a 3.72 ERA and striking out 67 batters.
The Red Storm and Bluejays have met on 30 previous occasions with St. John's holding the all-time series lead with a 19-11 record.
Last season, the two teams met at the BIG EAST Championships, where Creighton edged St. John's by a score of 2-1, ending the Johnnies season. Jarrard tallied the lone run in the contest with a solo home run, while Serafinko struck out eight batters across the full seven innings.
Following this weekend, St. John's will return to Queens for its final homestand when it hosts Hofstra for a midweek battle on April 23 at Red Storm Field.
