St. John’s to Compete in Robert Kepler Intercollegiate at Ohio State

Red Storm is coming off GolfWeek Invitational Championship
QUEENS, N.Y. – Fresh off a team championship at the GolfWeek Invitational, the St. John's men's golf team will ready for the Robert Kepler Spring Challenge at Ohio State on April 18-19.
The Red Storm will compete in the two-day 54-hole tournament at the Ohio State Golf Club Scarlet Course in Columbus. The Johnnies will play 36 holes on Friday before taking the course for the third round on Saturday.
St. John's will be participate in a competitive 13-team field against- Cal Poly, Colorado State, Creighton, Eastern Michigan, Kansas City, Kent State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Omaha, , St. Thomas and Tarleton State.
The Red Storm line-up will feature- Peicheng Chen, Joseph Dolezal, David Mlynek, Brandon Sperling and Frank Wu.
The last time out, St. John's shot its lowest three-round tournament score since the fall of 2022, carding a 23-under, 841, at the GolfWeek Spring Challenge to take home medalist honors. With the win in Pawley's Island, S.C., the Johnnies automatically qualified for the 2026 Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, which includes a trip to the Master's. The Red Storm shot its lowest single-round team score in 18 years firing a 14-under, 275, in the second round at TrueBlue Golf Club.
Wu and Mlynek both logged a top-five finish with a career-best 7-under, 209, to pace the Johnnies to a team title.
Chen comes into this weekend's event with three tournament wins, five top-three finishes and an overall record of 580-47-9 on the year. He paces the squad with a 70.9 stroke average and has finished top-25 in all eight stroke-play events.
St. John's made its first trip to the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate last year tallying a 14th place finish shooting 49-over, 901, in Columbus. Chen logged a top-five placement amongst the field recording a 4-over, 217, for the tournament.
