The senior shot 2-under over 36 holes at Ohio State Golf Club
COLUMBUS, Ohio – St. John's men's golfer Peicheng Chen is the leader in the clubhouse following the first two rounds at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate through windy conditions on Friday.
The senior is tied for the lead in the 72-golfer field after shooting a 2-under, 140, through the opening 36 holes at Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course. Baron Szeto of Cal Poly is knotted with Chen at 2-under.
As a team, the Red Storm carded a eighth place finish shooting 40-over, 608, in the 13-team field. Nebraska leads the field with a 13-over, 581, to pace the tournament.
Chen recorded a 2-under, 69, over the opening round of the day to jump to the front of the field. The Beijing, China native tallied three birdies and just a single bogey to carry a lead into the afternoon. The reigning BIG EAST Champion stayed steady over the final 18 holes of the day registering an even par, 71.
Joseph Dolezal logged a 10-over, 152, over the first two rounds to tie for 38th place. The freshman shot 5-over, 76, in each round at Ohio State.
St. John's will tee off for the final round from Columbus tomorrow morning and live results will be available on SCOREBOARD.
