Victoria Papadopoulou and Noemi Babikova Named to All-BIG EAST Second Team

The duo combined for 23 wins across all dual match play this spring
NEW YORK – Victoria Papadopoulou and Noemi Babikova of the St. John's women's tennis team have been named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Babikova flourished in her second year at St. John's, winning 14 total matches. With a 7-2 mark in solo play, she earned victories in six of her last seven appearances, including a straight-set triumph on the No. 2 court in the Red Storm's BIG EAST Quarterfinal match against Butler.
Papadopoulou earned her first career All-BIG EAST honors after amassing nine total wins this season, eight of which came on the No. 1 court. The junior from Greece earned a top-flight singles victory in the conference semifinals against Xavier and rallied from a set down to clinch the match for the Johnnies against Seton Hall on March 15.
The Red Storm finished 14-7 this season and 5-1 in BIG EAST play, advancing to its 11th consecutive conference semifinal appearance under Head Coach Lauren Leo. St. John's has had at least one player garner All-BIG EAST recognition every year since the 2012 season.
