NEW YORK – St. John's baseball second baseman Anthony Brienza and pitcher Victor Frederick were tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.

The Marlboro, N.J., native slashed .643/.722/.857 with nine hits, including a double and a triple, five runs scored, three RBIs and four free passes.
Brienza started his week by scoring a run on a hit and two walks against Stony Brook on Senior Day. He followed up by kicking off the squad's weekend set against Villanova with two scores and an RBI with a triple. The three-bagger marked the 100th hit of his Red Storm career.
In game two of Saturday's doubleheader against the Wildcats, Brienza went off for a career-high five hits in five at-bats, picking up a double, two RBIs and a score in the contest. The second baseman went on to collect two hits, a tally and a walk in Sunday's series finale.

Frederick continued his impressive freshman year campaign this weekend, making his ninth start of the season against Villanova in game two of Saturday's doubleheader. The righty picked up his fourth win of the season behind five innings of no-run ball. The Northport, N.Y., product only allowed three hits and two walks while tying his season-high of six strikeouts.
This season, the starting pitcher has produced a 5.80 ERA with a 1.45 WHIP in 11 appearances and 49.2 innings pitched. He has logged 41 strikeouts to only 18 walks with a 4-2 record.
The pair of honors mark St. John's ninth and 10th BIG EAST recognitions of the year. Jace Jeremiah, Jared Beebe and Luke Orbon were previously named the league's player of the week, while Jed Boyle was named the conference's pitcher of the week. Jayder Raifstanger, Shaun McMillan, Tyler Longoria and Jon LeGrande have all been named to the league's honor roll this season.
Brienza, Frederick and the Red Storm will be back in action this weekend when they close out the regular season with a three-game series against Butler. First pitch from Bulldog Park in Indianapolis, Ind., is slated for 3 p.m. on Thursday.
