NEW YORK (May 19, 2025) – St. John's baseball designated hitter Shaun McMillan was named to the final BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
McMillan picks up the second conference honor roll nod of his season and career after aiding the Johnnies to a 2-1 series win over Butler last weekend in Indianapolis. The Freeport, N.Y., native registered a slash line of .467/.438/.733 with seven hits, including a double and a homer. He also contributed seven RBIs and four runs scored across the Red Storm's final series of the regular season.
McMillan kicked off the set by putting together his third four-hit game of the season, finishing a triple shy of the cycle with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. The next day, the freshman logged two hits, two RBIs and a run in the contest, en route to a slim 11-10 victory.
The slugger finished off the regular season by registering three RBIs on a hit and a sacrifice fly, as St. John's took down the Bulldogs 15-7.
On the season, McMillan has slashed .337/.408/.590 with 60 hits, 12 doubles, three triples, nine homers, 20 walks, 33 runs scored and 50 RBIs in 47 appearances this season. In BIG EAST play, the standout batted .393 with 28 RBIs, 16 scores and eight doubles.
The honor marks St. John's 12th BIG EAST recognition of the year. Jace Jeremiah, Jared Beebe and Luke Orbon were previously named the league's player of the week, while Jed Boyle was named the conference's pitcher of the week. McMillan has been tabbed to the honor roll twice, alongside nods from Jayder Raifstanger, Tyler Longoria and Jon LeGrande this season.
McMillan and the fourth-seeded Red Storm will be back in action on Wednesday when they kick off the 2025 BIG EAST Baseball Championship presented by JEEP against first-seeded Creighton. First pitch from Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio is slated for 2:30 p.m.
