Four Johnnies Earn All-BIG EAST Honors

NEW YORK – Four members of the St. John's baseball team garnered All-BIG EAST honors following the 2025 regular season, as announced by the conference on Tuesday morning.
Jon LeGrande, Shaun McMillan and Jayder Raifstanger were named to the All-BIG EAST First Team, while Jared Beebe captured a nod to the conference's second team. All four Johnnies have earned postseason accolades for the first time. The quartet of awards marks the second consecutive season that the Red Storm has placed that amount on the all-league teams.
LeGrande captures an All-BIG EAST First Team selection in his first year in Queens, following a standout 2025 campaign. The 2024 NJCAA All-American made the most of his opportunity in Red and White, making starts in all 50 of his appearances this year. LeGrande slashed .364/.443/.557 overall with 64 hits, eight doubles, four triples and six home runs. The Bronx, N.Y., native also shined in run production, batting in 44 Johnnies while scoring another 44 runs himself. On the basepaths, the junior ranked 23rd in the nation with 33 stolen bases and 54th with four triples.
In 2025, LeGrande put together 18 multi-hit games, including a 4-for-5 day against Georgetown on May 2. He also had two games where he collected four RBIs or more, ranking up four against Xavier (April 11) and five against Manhattan (March 18).
During BIG EAST Play, the standout outfielder hit .443, the second-best batting average in the conference with 35 hits, including four doubles, two triples and four long balls. LeGrande also tallied 25 RBIs, 23 runs scored and a league-best 19 stolen bases on 19 attempts.
He was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on May 5, after slashing .600/.632/1.333 on a team-best nine hits, three homers and two doubles. The outfielder also racked up eight runs scored, six RBIs, nine stolen bases and two walks against Iona and Georgetown.
McMillan finds himself on the All-BIG EAST First Team after a breakout freshman year campaign as the team's designated hitter. Making 43 starts in 47 appearances, the first-year slugger posted a slash line of .337/.408/.509 off 60 hits, 12 doubles, two triples and nine long balls. The Freeport, N.Y., product also rang up 50 RBIs and 33 scores during the 2025 season. The freshman's 50 RBIs ranked eighth in the league while his .337 batting average checked in at 15th.
The slugger made an immediate impact during conference play, slashing .393/.440/.674 with 35 hits, eight doubles, five tanks and one triple. He also added 28 RBIs and 16 runs scored during the Red Storm's conference slate.
McMillan put together 17 multi-hit games, totaling four hits on three separate occasions against Xavier (April 13), Georgetown (May 2) and Butler (May 15). He also posted four or more RBIs three times, batting in a career-high five runs against the Hoyas on May 2.

McMillan earned his first nod after slashing .643/.722/1.286 with nine hits, including two homers, a double and a triple, six RBIs, five runs scored and four walks against Ohio State and NJIT. The sophomore also contributed three bombs and two triples in 50 starts this season.
In league competition, the third baseman recorded a .341 batting average with six doubles, 23 tallies and 14 RBIs, while appearing in all 21 conference contests. Raifstanger's average ranked 17th in the league, while his 23 runs scored checked in at 10th.
Across the season, the standout posted 22 multi-hit games, slamming three hits in a contest seven times this year. Raifstanger posted a career-high four RBIs against Xavier on April 12, finishing the day with two hits, a double and a run scored.
The Johnnie notched his first-ever BIG EAST accolade on March 3, after putting up a .636/.714/1.091 slash line with six RBIs, seven hits, two doubles and a home run against Louisville.
Beebe, who transferred in from Barton College, made a strong impact as the team's first baseman throughout the 2025 season. His selection to an All-BIG EAST Team marks the third-straight season a Johnnie has jumped from NCAA Division II to Division I and landed on a postseason squad, joining 2024 All-BIG EAST First Team Selection Garrett Scavelli and 2023 second team member Aaron Mann.
The Atco, N.J. native wrapped up the regular season as one of the most impressive infielders in the conference, posting a .363/.424/.564 slash line on a team-best 79 hits, 23 doubles, three triples and five home runs. In addition, he amassed a squad-leading 52 RBIs alongside 47 runs scored in 51 starts this year. In BIG EAST play alone, the standout sat first with 10 doubles, second with 37 total hits and seventh with a .394 batting average.
Nationally, Beebe checks in seventh in doubles (23), 35th in hits (79), 108th in triples (3) and 121st in batting average (.362). He leads the BIG EAST in two-baggers, is fifth in average and third in hits. The senior is just a pair of two-baggers shy of breaking the program's single-season doubles record, set by Mike Dzurilla in 1999.

Fourth-seeded St. John's will make its second-straight appearance in the BIG EAST Baseball Championship presented by Jeep on Wednesday, when it faces first-seeded Creighton. First pitch from Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio is slated for 2:30 p.m. on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
