Peicheng Chen Named to All-BIG EAST First Team

Chen earns BIG EAST honors for the third time in his career
NEW YORK – St. John's men's golf standout Peicheng Chen was named an All-BIG EAST First Team selection, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
Chen, earns all-conference honors for the third consecutive year (2023-25) becoming the first St. John's men's golfer to be named a three-time All-BIG EAST selection since former conference player of the year and PGA Tour Professional Ryan McCormick.
The senior put together an impressive 2024-25 campaign registering seven top-3 finishes, which ranks tied for first in NCAA Division I. The Beiing, China native won medalist honors three times this season at the Doc Gimmler Red & Black, the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse and the Vanharte County Collegiate Classic becoming just the third St. John's golfer to win three tournaments in a single-season.
Chen brought his game to a new level posting a career-best stroke average of 70.7 and finished eight of his 10 stroke play events at even or under par. The veteran dominated opponents totaling an overall record of 698-51-9.
As his career in Queens draws to a close, Chen has won six tournaments including a BIG EAST Individual Championship in 2024 and is a two-time All-PING Northeast Team selection. The team captain delivered a season-low 6-under, 66, at the BIG EAST Championships to fly up the leaderboard and captured a third place finish.
Last week, Chen earned an at-large selection into NCAA Regionals becoming the first Red Storm golfer to compete on the national stage in back-to-back years since U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley in 2007-08. The No. 186th-ranked player in the country will play in the Amherst Regional in Virginia at Poplar Grove Golf Club from May 12-14.
