Louis Marinaro Signs with the Texas Rangers

The left-handed pitcher made 59 career appearances for the Red Storm
QUEENS, N.Y. – St. John's baseball standout Louis Marinaro signed a contract with the Texas Rangers organization on Tuesday.
Marinaro was a standout left-hand reliever for the Red Storm, who made 59 appearances for three seasons from 2023-25. The Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., native posted a career 4.72 ERA and was a 2024 All-BIG EAST Second Team selection.
The pitcher has performed strongly in the Cape Code Baseball League, one of the nation's top summer leagues for the Bourne Braves making three appearances logging a 3.38 ERA and seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings of work.
During his junior campaign, Marinaro was a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection and pitched in 17 games, making one start logging 38 strikeouts over 31 innings pitched.
In 2024, Marinaro played an integral role on the bump as the Johnnies' captured their 10th BIG EAST Championship and made their 38th NCAA Tournament appearance. The All-BIG EAST honoree took the mound 22 times and posted a 6-3 record with a 3.38 ERA. The southpaw led the squad with 68 strikeouts, walked just 16 batters and held opposing hitters to a .181 batting average across 48.0 innings of work.
As a freshman, Marinaro made 19 appearances out of the bullpen as a rookie for the Red Storm. He recorded a 1-1 record and a 6.21 ERA during his first year in Queens in 2023.
A New York native, Marinaro was a four-year letterwinner at John F. Kennedy Catholic High School and a CHSAA All-League Honorable Mention selection.
