Women’s Basketball Unveils Non-Conference Slate

The Red Storm hold a 27-9 record against out-of-league opponents over the last three seasons
QUEENS, N.Y. – The St. John's Women's Basketball Head Coach Joe Tartamella released the program's 11-game non-conference schedule for the 2025-26 campaign on Monday.
The schedule features opponents from six different conferences, including three that qualified for 2025 NCAA Tournament. The slate includes five home games at Carnesecca Arena, four true road games and a pair of neutral site contests at the Cayman Islands Classic over Thanksgiving weekend. The Red Storm is coming off a 10-1 record in non-conference play last season and are 27-9 (.750) against out-of-league opponents over the last three seasons.

The Johnnies will open up the 2025-26 season on Nov. 3, when they welcome Le Moyne to Carnesecca Arena. St. John's has won each of its last four season openers by 30 points and or more and are 12-1 in its first contest of the season under Tartamella.
That ensuing Friday on Nov. 7, the Red Storm will head to Cambridge, Mass., to meet the defending Ivy League Champions in Harvard at Lavietes Pavilion. The Red Storm and Crimson will meet for the sixth time with St. John's leading the all-time series, 3-2, and for the first time in Massachusetts since 2011.
The New England road swing will continue on Veteran's Day when St. John's heads to Quinnipiac to face the Bobcats for the first time in a dozen years. The contest from M&T Bank Arena will tip-off at 5 p.m. as the Bobcats are coming off a 28-4 record in 2024-25.
The Johnnies will return home on Nov. 14 a Friday matinee against Yale slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. from Queens. St. John's has won all six meetings against Bulldogs most recently a 75-56 triumph in New Haven behind a 30-point performance from Unique Drake on Dec. 21, 2023.
On Nov. 19, Coach Tartamella's squad will welcome its first Big 12 opponent to Carnesecca Arena since 2017 when it takes on Oklahoma State in a marquee showdown. The Johnnies and Cowgirls, who are coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance will face off for the first time ever.
The three-game homestand will conclude when St. John's hosts Central Connecticut State on Nov. 24.
Over Thanksgiving, the Red Storm will head to the Cayman Islands for a pair of matchups at John Gray Gymnasium in George Town, Grand Cayman. On Nov. 28, the Johnnies will square off with Georgia Tech at 5:30 p.m. ET. The following day, the Red Storm will close out the tournament against Memphis for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip.
Heading into December, the Johnnies will face a pair of local foes from Long Island. St. John's will make the short trip to Stony Brook on Dec. 10. In last year's meeting on Nov. 24, 2024, the Johnnies shut down the Seawolves, 58-34, marking the lowest opponent point total since Dec. 17, 2016. Three days later, the Red Storm will return home to battle Hofstra on Dec. 13. St. John's put forth another impressive defensive performance downing The Pride, 62-38, on Dec. 11, 2024.
St. John's will close its non-conference schedule with a trip to take on New Haven on Dec. 17. The Chargers will head into their first season as an NCAA Division I program as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC).
Tartamella returns for his 14th season at the helm and welcomes back six players from last year's team. Additionally, the Red Storm welcome in a talented class of six newcomers, include ASUN Freshman of the Year Sa'Mya Wyatt from Austin Peay.
