Women’s Soccer Continues Road Swing at Marquette

Red Storm and Golden Eagles will kick-off at 8 p.m. ET
QUEENS, N.Y.– The St. John's Women's Soccer team will kick-off the month of October with a road contest at Marquette on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
The Red Storm come into the match fresh off a pair of ties last week against BIG EAST opponents in Providence and Seton Hall.
Wednesday's match from Valley Fields will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available here.
In their last match, the Johnnies recorded a scoreless draw fueled by a career-high seven save outing from Kayla Bower. The senior alongside the Red Storm backline tallied its third shutout of the 2025 campaign. Madison Mariani and Julia Lombardo logged a team-high two shots in South Orange.
Bower continues to shine during her senior campaign between the pipes for St. John's. The Lincoln Park, N.J., native leads the BIG EAST in saves per game (5.10), total saves (51) and save percentage (.836). The team captain was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season on Monday.
Telma Steindórsdóttir was tabbed to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the first time in her career on Monday. The sophomore played an integral role in an 0-0-2 week for the Johnnies netting the equalizer in the 45th minute against Providence and held a clean sheet at Seton Hall.
Mariani has spearheaded the Red Storm attack providing a team-high five points (2 goals, 1 assist). The Richmond Hill, Ontario native has steered 13 of her team-best 14 shot attempts on target (92.9%).
The Johnnies and Golden Eagles are 1-1-1 in the last three meetings with the Red Storm taking a 3-0 decision in its last visit to Milwaukee on Oct. 22, 2023. Jailene DeJesus, Ava Collins an an own goal propelled St. John's to its largest ever win in the series.
Marquette holds a 4-3-3 record to begin the 2025 campaign. The Golden Eagles opened their season with three straight victories over Northern Illinois, North Dakota State and Milwaukee, outscoring their opponents 5-0 during that stretch.
