St. John’s Falls to Princeton on Sunday

The Johnnies will return to action on Friday against Rider
PRINCETON, N.J. (Feb. 1, 2026) – The St. John's women's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision to Princeton on Sunday evening in the Garden State.
The Tigers took the team doubles point before sweeping singles action, handing the Red Storm its second loss of the season at the Si Qin Family Tennis Center.
St. John's opened doubles play with an impressive showing on the no. 1 court, where Victoria Papadopoulou and Noemi Babikova cruised to a 6-1 victory over Tsehay Driscoll and Madeleine Jessup to give the Red Storm an early edge. Princeton responded by taking the next two doubles matches, with the No. 3 court finishing first to even the tally before the Tigers secured the point on the No. 2 court.
Princeton secured wins on the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5 singles courts to complete the sweep.
Following Sunday's setback, St. John's moves to 2-2 on the season and will be back in action on Friday when it hosts Rider at the USTA National Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 12:15 p.m.
