QUEENS, N.Y.- The St. John's men's golf team will return to the course on Sunday for the ECU Intercollegiate at Brook Valley Country Club in Greenville.
Originally scheduled to begin on Monday, the opening round has been moved up to Sunday due to expected inclement weather in the area. The Red Storm will tee off at 10 a.m.
The Johnnies line-up will feature Joseph Dolezal, Mathhew DiFiore, Max McColgan, Eli Weidmann and David Mlynek. St. John's will compete in a 14-team field against UCF, Temple, Omaha, Oakland, Columbia, FDU, Bellarmine, Lehigh, Barton, Old Dominion, Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb, UNC-Wilmington and the hosts East Carolina.
The Red Storm is coming off an eighth place finish out of 20 teams earlier this week at the Babyrgrande Donald Ross Collegiate Classic in Southern Pines, N.C. St. John's started the event at Mid Pines Golf Club shooting a 3-under and finished with a 54-hole score of 11-over, 875. The rookie duo of DiFiore (15th) and Weidmann (T-19th) logged top-20 finishes.
St. John's returns to the event for the first time in 18 years on April 4-6, 2008. In its last appearance at the formerly named Ironwood Collegiate, the Red Storm took home the tournament title led by medalist winner Keegan Bradley.
Live results will be available throughout the tournament on SCOREBOARD.
