St. John’s Sits in Fifth at UNCW River Landing Classic

Kelly Wu tied for fourth after 36 holes of competition
WALLACE, N.C.- The St. John's women's golf team sits in fifth place following the opening two rounds of the UNCW River Landing Classic on Monday.
The Red Storm carded a 47-over, 623, over two rounds of action at River Landing- River Course in North Carolina. The Johnnies shot a 22-over, 310, to start off and turned in a 25-over, 313, in the penultimate round of the tournament.
Kelly Wu led the way on Monday and is tied for fourth place heading into the clubhouse. The senior posted a 4-over, 148, to crack the top-five after two rounds. Wu shot 2-over, 74, in the first 18 and closed the day with a matching 2-over, 74.
Sophomore Lily Huynh checked in next registering an 8-over, 152, over 36 holes. The Chatsworth, Calif., native logged a 5-over, 77, before improving by two strokes in the second round, 3-over, 75, to tie for 14th place. Huynh is knotted with teammate Pihla Pennanen, who tallied an 8-over, 152, as an individual competitor.
Cathilyn Lee takes 26th finishing with a 16-over, 160 and Laura Mizlerova is tied for 37th place after putting a 20-over, 164, on the scorecard to round out the scoring for the Johnnies.
The final round of play will begin tomorrow at 8:45 a.m. and live results will be available on SCOREBOARD.
