Johnnies Fall to Creighton in Game One

The Red Storm returns to action tomorrow in a doubleheader against the Bluejays
QUEENS, N.Y. — The St. John's softball team fell to Creighton, 2-0, on Friday afternoon in the opener of a three-game BIG EAST series at Red Storm Field.
The Red Storm (27-17, 6-10 BIG EAST) was held scoreless despite tallying six hits in the contest. Jess Bianco and London Slade each recorded two hits, while Natasha Limbani and Ana Serafinko added one apiece.
Bianco's performance marked her 22nd multi-hit performance of the 2026 campaign, while Slade recorded her 15th.
In the circle, Serafinko tossed her 18th complete game of the season, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out three.
Following an hour and a half rain delay, both teams threatened early as St. John's recorded two hits in the opening frame. Creighton placed multiple runners on base in each of the first two innings, but neither side was able to break through.
Creighton (24-21, 12-4 BIG EAST) struck in the third inning, plating a pair of runs. The Bluejays delivered an RBI double down the left field line before a run-scoring single gave the visitors a 2-0 advantage.
The Johnnies had opportunities throughout the contest, recording two baserunners in each of the first and third innings, but were unable to bring a run across.
Serafinko settled in following the third inning, retiring 10 of the final 12 batters she faced and keeping the Red Storm within striking distance.
St. John's was retired in order in the seventh inning as Creighton held on to secure the series-opening victory.
