St. John’s Shoots 6-Under in Final Round at Augusta Haskins Award Invitational

The Johnnies will attend Monday’s practice round at The Masters
AUGUSTA, Ga.- The St. John's men's golf team shined in the final round of the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, shooting 6-under, 282, on Easter Sunday.
The Red Storm carded a 12-over, 876, over the two days and 54 holes of competition at Forest Hills Golf Course in Augusta, Ga. The Johnnies finished 15th overall in a loaded field that featured eight of the top-40 collegiate golf programs in the country.
North Carolina took home the team title and were led by individual champion Sihan Sandhu, who logged a 15-under, 201.
After shooting 18-over during two rounds yesterday, the Red Storm turned it on in Sunday's final round with four of the five golfers shooting even or under par. St. John's third round score ranked eighth-best among the field.
Eli Weidmann paced the squad leading a group of three Johnnies that shot 2-under, 70, on Easter Sunday. The freshman posted a 2-under, 214, for the tournament to tie for 41st place on the leaderboard.
Joseph Dolezal and Frank Wu turned in a 2-under, 70, in the final round both flushing six birdie putts over the last 18 holes. Dolezal and David Mlynek ended the tournament with a 5-over, 221, to tie for 65th place overall in the standings.
Max McColgan posted his best round of the event tallying an even par, 72. The freshman closed out the 54 holes with an 11-over, 227.
As part of competing in the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational, the entire Red Storm team will attend Monday's practice round at The Masters on the historic grounds of Augusta National Golf Club.
The Johnnies will be back in action on April 18-19 for the Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by Penn State.
