St. John’s Baseball Claims a Share of the 2026 BIG EAST Regular Season Title; Earns Top Seed in BIG EAST Tournament

The Red Storm earned a share of a record 10th regular season title
QUEENS, N.Y. – Following a final day of the regular season that featured a win over Butler at Jack Kaiser Stadium, the St. John's baseball team has clinched a share of the BIG EAST Regular Championship for the 10th time in program history.
The Red Storm's 10 regular season titles are a league record and four clear of UConn (6) in second place. It is the first regular season crown for the Johnnies since 2018.
The Johnnies, who finished in a three-way tie atop the BIG EAST standings with UConn and Xavier at 15-6, will be the top seed in next week's BIG EAST Tournament after going 4-2 this season against the Huskies and the Musketeers. The Johnnies won all seven of their BIG EAST series, taking all their league sets for the first time since 2018. The Red Storm enters the postseason with a record of 30-24 and has won 29 of its past 43 games.
The 2026 BIG EAST Baseball Championship, presented by JEEP, will be co-hosted by Xavier at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. The tournament will run from May 20-23 and feature a four-team, double-elimination format, with all games streamed on ESPN+. The top-seeded Johnnies will open tournament play against fourth-seeded Creighton at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20. No. 2 UConn will face No. 3 Xavier in the evening game at 6:30 p.m.
