As a Graduate Student (2021):

Excelled for two years with the Hawks, leading the squad to a 46-10 record as a sophomore after helping the team go 39-18 as a freshman… hit .340 as a sophomore in 2018… reached base at a .444 clip and slugged .505… hit five home runs, drove in 33 runs and scored 62 times… stole 34 bases and was caught stealing on just four occasions… named to the Midwest District Championship All-Tournament Team… batted a team-best .388 as a freshman in 2017… drove in 47 runs and scored 52 times… tallied 14 doubles and three triples in 55 appearances… registered 22 walks while striking out just 15 times… stole 17 bases.
Before College:
A three-year standout for Nazareth Academy… an all-conference selection as a senior in 2016… named the MVP and captain of the Roadrunners as a senior… also lettered for three years in football, serving as the team’s quarterback.
Personal:
Carson Riley Bartels… son of Steve and Mia Bartels… has an older brother, Jake, and a younger sister, Claire… his father, Steve, played baseball at Western Illinois and his brother, Jake, played baseball at Western Michigan… chose St. John’s because he believes the University gives him the best chance to be successful on the field and in the classroom and will set him up well for life after baseball… lists his older brother, Jake, as the person he admires most and Corey Seager as his favorite athlete… a member of the dean’s list at Heartland… aspires to one day own his own business… majoring in business.
