Preseason All-BIG EAST, but limited to seven games, all of which were starts, due to a shoulder injury… hit .115 and reached base at .207 clip… tallied two hits and two runs scored against Middle Tennessee State (Feb. 19)… walked, stole a base and scored a run at UNCW (Feb. 20)… recorded a base hit and crossed the plate once at Oregon (Feb. 25).
As a Redshirt Freshman (2021):

A three-year letter winner in both baseball and basketball at Nutley High School…. set a school record with 144 career hits and scored 1,400 points in basketball… named Co-Athlete of the Year by The Observer and Super Essex Conference Player of the Year by NJ.com…. also named Second Team All-State by the Star Ledger… hit .432 with six homers and 21 RBIs as a senior... also excelled on the mound, going 5-1 with a 1.56 ERA... the no. 29 recruit in the state of New Jersey according to Perfect Game.
Personal:
Martin Aloysius Higgins III… son of Jodi and Martin Higgins… has two younger sisters, Jenna and Mia… his father, Martin, played basketball at the University of Maine and his uncle, Michael Higgins, played baseball at Rutgers and in the minors with the Colorado Rockies organization… chose St. John’s for its athletic and academic reputation along with the coaching staff… lists his parents as the people he admires most and Mike Trout as his favorite athlete... plans to major in business.
