As a Senior (2018):
Made 27 appearances, two of which were starts… hit .091 with a .200 on-base percentage… scored four runs… walked twice, stole two bases and scored a run in his season debut at Campbell (Feb. 18)… started at first base in the team’s win over No. 6 North Carolina (Feb. 21)… walked and score a run against Saint Peter’s (April 3)… stole a base against Iona (April 11)… swiped another bag against Creighton (April 14)… went 2-for-2 with a double and two runs scored in the Red Storm’s record breaking 34-7 win over Xavier (April 28).
As a Junior (2017):
Made 23 appearances, including one start, for the Red Storm... drove in two runs... hit .048 with an .091 on-base percentage... picked up his first Division I RBI against UMBC (Feb. 25)... scored runs in consecutive appearances against Saint Peter's (March 22) and Maine (March 26)... doubled and scored a run against FDU (April 22)... drove in a run against Vanderbilt in the Clemson Regional (June 2).
At State College of Florida:
A team captain as a sophomore… played in 35 games as a sophomore, registering three home runs, seven doubles and 20 RBIs in the process… helped the Manatees to a 39-18 finish as a freshman in 2015, appearing in 41 contests… belted a home run and two doubles while driving in nine runs on the season.
At King High School:
A four year letterwinner for the Lions… served as a team captain as a senior… won his team’s rookie of the year award in 2011… helped the Lions to a pair of district championships in 2011 and 2012 and a Regional Championship as a sophomore.
Personal:
Kevin Robert Buckley… born in Tampa, Fla.… son of Chris and Ellen Buckley… has two older siblings, Brianne and Sean… chose St. John’s because he loves the coaching staff and feels like he could have a great experience in New York City… lists his favorite sports memory as going to states in his junior year of high school… plans to major in business… a member of the National Honor Society and Relay for Life… made the President’s List in all four semesters of junior college… lists his brother, Sean Buckley, as the person he admires most and LeBron James as his favorite athlete… his brother, Sean, was selected in the sixth round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds and advanced as high as AAA before taking a job as a scout in the organization… his father, Chris Buckley, was drafted by the Houston Astros in the second round of the 1980 MLB January Draft… plans to play or work in professional baseball after graduation.
