As a Redshirt Junior (2021):
First Team All-BIG EAST selection… went 4-3 with a 1.92 ERA in 11 appearances, all of which were starts… struck out 74 batters and surrendered only 18 walks in 65.2 innings pitched… allowed just 13 extra-base hits… held opponents to a .248 batting average… finished the season ranked 13th in the NCAA in ERA… started the spring by striking out seven in 6.0 innings of two-hit work against UMass Lowell (Feb. 26)… threw 6.0 more scoreless frames against Sacred Heart (March 5)… struck out six in 7.0 innings of one-run ball in a no-decision against Fordham (March 19)… gave up five hits, one run and punched out eight in a win against Xavier to open BIG EAST play (April 9)… fanned nine in 7.0 innings during a no-decision against Seton Hall (April 23)… surrendered no earned runs in 5.0 innings but picked up the loss at Creighton (April 30)… matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts in 6.0 shutout innings at Butler (May 14)… struck out seven batters in 6.2 innings during his final outing against Villanova (May 20).

As a Redshirt Sophomore (2019):
Made 10 appearances, nine of which were starts… went 2-3 with a 3.86 ERA… struck out 34 batters and surrendered 16 walks in 35.0 innings of work… fanned 30 and walked seven over the course of his last six outings… held opponents to a .240 batting average… made his first appearance in two years at UCLA (Feb. 15) before missing another month and a half with injury… recorded a scoreless inning in his first start since 2017 against Columbia (April 3)… tossed five innings of one-run ball against Stony Brook (April 23)… recorded his first career win, striking out 10 Iona batters in six scoreless innings (April 30)… fanned two in two scoreless frames against Wagner (May 7)… struck out seven in 5.0 innings of two-run work in the Red Storm’s regular season finale against Seton Hall, helping the Red Storm secure the no. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament (May 18).

Made one start before missing the remainder of his rookie season with injury... allowed one run on two hits and struck out five in 3.2 frames of work against Richmond (Feb. 19).
At Watertown:
A four-year letterwinner for the Indians in baseball and a three-year letterwinner in basketball… a three-year team captain for the baseball squad and a two-year captain for the basketball team… a two-time All-State and two-time All-League selection… the number three overall recruit in the state of Connecticut and the number one left handed pitching recruit in the state according to Perfect Game… named the top prospect in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.

Nicholas Joseph Mondak… born in Waterbury, Conn.… son of John and Kelly Mondak… has an older brother, Chris… chose St. John’s for the history of its baseball program and its superior academics… lists his favorite sports memory as playing in the WWBA Championship in Georgia… earned First Honors in all four years of his high school career and served as a counselor at his YMCA’s basketball camp… lists his mother as the person he admires most and Derek Jeter as his favorite athlete… aspires to graduate with a degree in economics and play professional baseball… has deep athletic roots in his family, as his cousin, Kyle Nolan, played quarterback at Georgetown, and three of his uncles played collegiate football or basketball.
