Made 15 appearances, two of which were starts… went 1-2 with an 8.53 ERA… struck out 14 batters and walked 20 in 19.0 innings… tossed a scoreless frame at San Francisco (March 5)… threw one perfect inning against Sacred Heart (March 20)… did not allow a run in five consecutive appearances from April 1 to April 27.
At Duke:
Made eight appearances in 2021 out of the bullpen… allowed 12 hits and nine walks while striking out 11 batters in 11.1 innings of work for a 6.35 ERA… made one appearance in the shortened 2020 season, tossing a clean inning with two strikeouts on Feb. 24 against Air Force.
Before College:
A Northeast All-Region First Team selection and Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention as a senior at Poly Prep… helped the Blue Devils to three consecutive New York State Association of Independent Schools (NYSAIS) championships… rated the no. 2 LHP and no. 6 overall prospect in the state of New York by Perfect Game in 2018.

Oliver David McCarthy…. son of Michael and Jennifer McCarthy… has an older sister, Izzy… father played football and was a part of the rowing team at Columbia.
