LoMonaco Competes at Olympic Trials

Queens, N.Y. - Former St. John's student-athlete Gina LoMonaco will compete in the finals of the discus throw tonight at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex in Sacramento, California.
The 2000 graduate placed fourth in her heat and seventh in the preliminaries with a distance of 56.74m, good to qualify her for the finals tonight at 7:30 p.m. PT. The top three finishers in the event who have met the Olympic "A" qualifying standard will be named to the U.S. Olympic roster.
USA Network will be airing tonight's competition from 10:00 p.m.-1:00 a.m. ET.
Also representing St. John's was alum Chris Graff, who wrapped up his track career on Friday night after finishing fifth in the 10,000 meter final with a time of 28:27.93 in Sacramento, narrowly missing the cut-off.
