Blessing Egwu Wins Fourth Straight Weight Throw Competition

Princeton, N.J.--Blessing Egwu recorded a personal-best 19.39m (63'7 ½") in the 20 lb. weight throw Sunday at the Princeton Relays in Princeton, N.J. on her way toward her fourth straight first-place finish.
Egwu (Queens, N.Y.) dominated the weight throw competition out-throwing the second-place finisher by almost three meters. Egwu also captured second place in the shot put with a throw of 14.17m (46'6").
Kesheila Reid (St. Ann, Jamaica) took third in the weight throw with a performance of 14.99m (49'2 ¼") while Dominique Eason (Baldwin, N.Y.) threw the weight 13.78m (45'2 ½") for sixth place.
The throwing team along with the rest of the Red Storm track and field squad returns to action Fri. Jan. 20 at the Great Dane Classic at the 168th Street Armory in Manhattan.
